On 24th, October, a Japanese delegate led by Dr. Eikichi Tsukuda visited Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research (ITP), CAS in Beijing. Dr. Eikichi Tsukuda is the director of Geological Survey of Japan within the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Together with him are his colleagues, including Dr. Yoshiki Ninomiya and Dr. Fu Bihong, both of whom made reports about their study of remote sensing.
Director, Yao Tandong, vice director, Gao Xing and several other researchers welcomed the Japanese delegates in the office of ITP. Newly admitted graduates and postgraduates to ITP also took an active part in the academic report. Scientific staff from both sides had a thorough discussion about certain academic concerns. Both have shown an eagerness to cooperate in the future, before they finally arrived at a proposal for future cooperation of scientific study.
