Tibet witnessed far less sandstorms this year. The discovery was made after analysis of  meterological records of the past 30 years in 38 meterological stations  by Meterological Bureau of Tibet Autonomous Region. Experts suggest that this was largely due to the large-scale forestation and desert checking system.

The record also showed 146 days in Tibet with excellent air quality, making the excellent rate of air quality in Tibet as high as 97.3%, a percentage good enough to level the frst rate air quality by the general standard. So far, no acid rain has been reported in Tibet, thanks to the measures we took in the past few years to enlarge forestration and refrain soil erosion on the Plateau.
