On May 26^th, 2005, a deputy group from Beijing Genomics Institute, CAS, led by its Deputy Director Prof Wang Jian, paid a visit to ITP, to discuss the cooperation in establishing the Research Center of Human and Environment on the Tibetan Plateau, CAS.

Prof. Gao Xing, Deputy Director of ITP and some ITP professors in Beijing welcomed them. During the meeting, both parties discussed such issues as the organization of the new unit, its location, the name, working staff, equipment, daily operation and future development of the laboratory.

 At the end of the meeting, both parties have come to a preliminary agreement of the cooperation.
