Jointly sponsored by CSTP (The China Society on Tibetan Plateau), IGSNRR (Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources), ITP (Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, CAS), NIGPAS (Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontony, CAS), and NIGLAS (Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limotology, CAS), Seminar on Natural Resources, Environment, and Ecology on the Tibetan Plateau was held in Xixian, Anhui from Oct. 17 to 18, 2006.

Over 90 participants from the CAS institutes, research units of the CMS, and interested universities within the Ministry of Education, P.R.China etc attended the seminar. Together with some foreign scholars from the USA, Canada and Swiss, research staff engaged in the Tibetan Plateau research exchanged views in the following aspects: natural resources on the Plateau and its surrounding regions, environmental changes, ecological processes and their influence on regional development.
