During Aug. 3^rd and 7^th ,2007, some experts from the Georgia Technology Institute, USA was led by Prof. Dai Yongjiu, Director of the Department of Geography and Remote Sensing of Beijing Normal University to visit the ITP’s Lhasa campus and Nam Co station. ITP Director, Prof Yao Tandong welcomed them in the Lhasa campus. Among the American experts was Prof Robert Dickinson, who is an American academician and foreign academician of the CAS.

After the tour, scientific staff shared their achievement in field monitoring, as well as studies of geo-atmosphere interactions. Realizing the common ground, both the American experts and Prof Dai expressed their will to strengthen cooperation with the ITP in the study of weather and climate system in high-elevated regions and/or complex land surface.
