Vice Director Xiaohan Liao of the Department of Basic Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, P. R. China (MOST) visited the Nam Co Observation and Research Station for Multisphere Interactions (NAMORS) on Aug. 28, 2009, accompanied by ITPCAS assistant directors Yaoming Ma and Shichang Kang. Prof. Kang, also head of the NAMORS, reported to the MOST delegates on the infrastructure, operation status and scientific research on the station. Mr. Liao highly praised the research activities and active posture of the stationin in promoting international cooperation. He also hoped that more collaborations could be carried out between the NAMORS and parallel research units in either CAS or Chinese universities in terms of data and information sharing, so as to jointly contribute to China’s research on the Tibetan Plateau environment.
