ITP deputy director Prof. MA Yaoming recently visited the University of Bayreuth (UB), Germany, and was welcomed by UB President Prof. Ruediger Bormann and worldly-acknowledged meteorologist Prof. Thomas Foken of the Department of Micrometeorology. Both sides communicated on undergoing collaborations in the EU 7th Framework project, as well as that within the TiP (‘DFG project committee of Evolution of the Tibetan Plateau and its Environmental Processes and Ecosystems’) group project. They both thought highly of current collaborations in atmospheric sciences research, and hoped  such joint research would be further promoted for higher-level academic achievement and possible breakthroughs.
