Lately, ITP Prof. KANG Shichang was nominated as member of Capability Building and Education Committee, International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG), one of the four newly established committees within IUGG.

In the other three new committees, three more Chinese scientists were nominated, in particular, Prof. GUO Zhengfu to the Visioning Committee, Prof. LIU Jiaqi to the Membership Qualification Committee, and Prof. LI Jianping to the Honors and Awards Committee.

The establishment of the four new committees by the IUGG adheres to the decision made in the IUGG executive committee held last October in Melbourne, Australia. It will facilitate the plan implementation and upgrade the work efficiency of the IUGG. 22 scientists from 14 countries (or regions) have been nominated to the four new committees.
