[23 May 2011] Last Monday afternoon, ITP director Prof. YAO Tandong was invited by Prof. WANG Enge, Dean of the School of Physics, Peking University, to visit Peking University and conduct academic exchanges. He was accompanied by Prof. MA Yaoming, ITP deputy director and Dr. WU Wei, head of the Department of Graduates’ Education in ITP.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Profs. Yao and Wang, laying foundation for further cooperation between ITP and Peking University. As has been agreed upon, the institute and Peking University will strengthen their cooperation in talents cultivation, joint fund application, scientific program implementation, and international collaborations. Prof. Yao was also employed by Peking University as an adjunct professor.

On this invited visit, Prof. Yao also gave an academic report titled “Environment Changes on the Tibetan Plateau”, attracting wide interest and in-depth discussions afterwards.
