Youxue Zhang, famous geologist and professor at the University of Michigan, visited ITP on May 24, 2012. He was invited to conduct academic exchanges with scientific staff of ITP.

During the academic exchange, he presented a talk entitled “Dynamics of gas-driven eruption: volcanic eruption, lake eruption, possible ocean eruption, and coal mine gas explosion”. Note exchanges thereafter focused on potential application of relevant theoretical and experimental approaches in the study of geochemistry and geodynamics of the Tibetan Plateau region.
