SETORS welcomes NUIST President

Prof. LI Lianshui, President of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) visited the Southeast Tibet Observation and Research Stations for Alpine Environment (SETORS) in late July, 2012. His visit was accompanied by Mr. WANG Pengxiang, deputy director of Tibet Meteorological Bureau, Tibet Autonomous Region.

They were welcomed by SETORS deputy head Dr. WANG Yongjie. Dr. Wang showed them around the stations, introducing to them history of the station and current observation items on and beyond the station for a comprehensive study of the alpine environment.

Prof. Li showed great interest in field observations undergone at the station, and expressed wills to push for further cooperation between ITP and NUIST. Mr. Wang also promised to help promote cooperative research with ITP in the study of Tibetan Plateau environment and climate.
