Prof. TIAN Hanqin, distinguished alumni professor of Auburn University, USA, conducted academic exchanges with ITP research staff on global carbon cycle on Jan 18, 2010.
He reported on ‘large-scale patterns and processes of terrestrial ecosystems in response to multi-factor global change’, acquainting his audiences with present studies of global biogeochemical cycles, and sharing with them latest achievement in studying ‘carbon sink’ in the continental ecosystem.

ITP scientific staff afterwards expressed willingness to cooperate with him in combining on-hand observation data with multi-factor biogeochemical cycle modeling, so as to forecast the influence of potential climate change on GHGs emission and productivity of ecosystem on the Tibetan Plateau.
